PURPOSE OF ACTIVITY:

 

The purpose of this presentation is to increase knowledge, assessment and critical thinking skills of the foot care specialist in identifying the “at risk” foot and development of a sustainable plan of foot care through ‘Comprehensive PATIENT Assessment’ framework.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

 

FN525.5: This presentation provides a framework in identifying the individual “at risk” for developing a foot ulcer and creating a sustainable plan for foot care. The four elements of a ‘Comprehensive Patient Assessment’ is explored in detail: health history, focus lower extremity exam, goal setting, and identification of potential or actual barriers in developing a sustainable plan of foot care.
